Prizegiving

Clipart showing the face of a fat man

inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 1 November 2021, benefactor.

A magnate who ate many pies,
Was presenting his annual prize,
When he rose from the traps,
The whole rostrum collapsed,
And they needed a winch to arise!

  1. Hee hee hee. There’s was New Zealand comic (I think he died recently). His real name was John Clarke but he did a character called Fred Dagg. He has this series of skits about a sport he made up called Farnarkelling. Anyway, your limerick reminds me of one of the players going to receive an award (it’s all done like a sports report on the news) and the player falls through an interstice in the platform and accepts his award internally. Later he has to have an accoladectomy. LOL.

  2. Enjoyable Mr. Bump. You believe we actually had to write Limericks in English class for a project ? lol but of course
they could not be rude or crude. Thanx for the smiles.
