I was never a great fan of Tommy Cooper, but reflecting on it, he was part of growing up with the BBC.

I think of them all, he was my favourite. I think a lot of his material, though, I have seen after his death.

I loved Tommy Cooper, and Ken Dodd

I grew up 5 minutes away from Ken Dodd. I never met him, but everybody knew his house.

I never knew of either of these blokes, and it’s a great way to start my Saturday post viewing. Thanks for the introduction and the laughs.

Ken Dodd started off as a singer, but… he predated even the Beatles. He had a string of hits here in the Sixties. But I only remember him as a funny man. Like me, he came from Liverpool. He only died a few years ago. Tommy Cooper had his origins in WW2, entertaining the troops. So, he was famous here forever. He is one of those comedians who could just walk on stage, and everybody would be in stitches. He famously had a heart attack on stage, everyone thought it was a joke.
With that video, I can certainly see the difference HD made!
