Explained

inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 7 January 2022, premiere.

As a nipper, not long off the nipple,
When I wanted more milk I caused ripples,
For the very first time,
Mum mixed vodka and lime,
Which then quickly became my new tipple.

Tried to come up with a limerick in French this morning but alas, the language escaped me.

  1. If anyone is interested:
    Pour nettoyer son foyer affreux,
    L2,
    Pour la première fois,
    il a regretté son choix,
quand sa femme a allumé le feu.

    which is approximately:
    To clean his disgusting hearth
… something about climbing into the chimney…
    For the first time,
    He regretted his choice,
When his wife lit the fire.

    But… words failed me.

        1. I started off just going for common sounds. I found a site for rhymes (in French), thoughI didn’t understand half uf what it threw back at me. Also found a few for synonyms. That’s a kixcker because in French I generally only know one word for something. But, to no avail. I’d quite like to do it but it would’ve taken all day to come up with something, where it takes 5 minutes in English.
Foyer, for example. I had no idea it was also a hearth.
