Fallen Flat

Clipart image of a loaf of bread.

inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 28 December 2021, integral.

I baked bread for the upcoming feast,
But it slipped from my memory, the yeast,
My original goal,
Had been perfect white rolls,
But they got some unleavened, at least.

      1. (sigh) Yes, I know. It’s best avoided. Mr M eats Biona Organic rye bread. It has 3.5g sugars/35g carbs but it’s not bread as we know it. It’s a dense loaf. Are you on tablets or injections?

        1. I used to like rye bread, but basically, bread is bread. If I eat bread, it will be proper bread. Worthwhile bread. Like a good bagel. But the bread’s the treat.

I otherwise allow myself 2 pieces of Hovis cardboard crap per day.

Injections. They are the best thing, the only thing that ever gave me control.

  1. Brit Bump’s lim-rick today simply rocks.
Old men’s memory it laughingly knocks.
    For me this ain’t news,
    As putting on shoes,
Find that often I’m shoe-ing sans socks.

Good job, Bumper. Always grin, a smirk, a chuckle, now and then a tittering surprise. Never without admiration for your wordsmithery and clever turns.
