Inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 12 November 2021, cavalier.
An hapless young cop called Nathaniel,
For a police dog, he chose King Charles spaniel,
But found far from detecting,
And, in general, protecting,
When it came to shuteye, wrote the manual

My King Charles has a different problem to yours……

Look on Fandango’s comment page where your link is. I put all mine direct on there. Assume this is what you’re meaning…..

Probably. I do look at other responses, but last thing before bed. Something to look forward to, then.

You might know of someone else with the same doggie problem. Something’s not right. It’s either the cavalier or me…….

Shuteye – the friendliest cop in town. 🙂 In Bahasa Indonesia, the word for speedhump literally tranlates as sleeping policeman. I hope that wasn’t the KC’s fate.

That’s what they were known as originally, isn’t it? I’m sure I heard the term Sleeping Policeman. Hobbo will know!

You’re probably right. I guess I heard it in Indonesian first and not so much in English.

Ahh but when that burglar tries to get in
That brilliant dog will attack his shin

The burglar stitched up like a kipper,
The spaniel is a little nipper!

And to his master the spaniel said
See I’m more than just a best friend

But I heard dogs would make you yawn,
‘Cos they get you up at the crack of dawn!

Oh they keep you on your toes
And protect you from a punch in the nose

Dogs might be at the top of their craft,
But I fear this rhyme’s b ecomming daft!

Regarding the Iguana yes he and I became good friends 🙂 I used to hold him up on my shoulder and sing to him
he enjoyed it as his tail hung down to the ground as I am short.. 5′ LOL but he really was a baby. Green one but a baby.

What dogs are best at is sleeping, although cats are even better at that.
