I took a trip into Salisbury yesterday. Here are a couple of images of the Market Square, the platz-like area that I enjoy so much. It was a bit cloudy, so I processed them black-and-white. That’s always a good option when you don’t have the blueness of the sky to work with.
The square is ringed by cafes and is always bustling.
I took a few more photos, where I haven’t applied processing:
Debenhams Pizza Hut A fashion shop called Rohan A shoe shop called Jones Burger King God Knows! Starbucks
A shame that such a beautiful place now has its name linked to the Novichok scandal. 😒

That story was probably more significant nationally than locally. It wasuseful to stir anti-Russian sentiment, as though other countries would not do such a thing. I’m not so sure.
It is a nice place but it has an inflexible council which would rather shops stood empty than cutting shops some slack. There aren’t really retail shops any more, it is mostly hospitality

What a shame, and unfortunately it is not the only town in the UK being destroyed by bureaucratic town councillors. 😒

It’s like going to one of those Multiplex cinemas. You know, a million-and-one different food outlets and nothing else.
Ironically, the cinema is the town centre is tiny and very old-fashioned!

The filter gives b/w to imitate certain old types of film. Alas, I can’t tell me difference now.
