He cut up an old lady, retired,
They pulled up at a red light, required,
Then a look in his eyes,
One of outright surprise,
When she took out a pistol and fired.
On reflection, I thought I’d better say something – in the UK, we say “cut up” but a couple of US English readers are used to the phrase “cut off”.

you know, Pete, in American English, ‘cut up’ is what a psychopath might do to his victims with a butter knife.
