As a youngster, my future was bright,
I would often go out Friday night,
Drinking nowt in particular,
I’d end up perpendicular,
Just as well, had 2 days to get right!

At least you only did in once in Barcelona: that place can be dangerous-too many high rises with balconies 😅

That’s one dazed-looking emoji! I reckon this is your best limerick yet. SO funny and relatable well done.

I wanted to do a shallow one today as yesterday’s was a bit deep!

You did great. I think its always good to vary the genre and mood of your poetry and stories as yougo along. Keeps people interested — I hope.

Funny you should say that, I posted all sorts of stuff before I hit on the limericks, but they get consistently more “like”s than other posts. so I figure that people do actually like them.

What I’m seeing is poetry in general is more enjoyed. I think purely because poems are small and quick to read. With my 1500 word stories I don’t think people actually read them most of the time. They just like and say they like it or not. So these wonderful limericks of yours are perfect for getting great interaction.

Yeah in that respect it is all meaningless. I turn off notifications for either likes or follows for that reason, I only really see comments. The bottom line, if we enjoy writing them, then what does it matter whether people react to them or not?

Agreed after all darkness that stole my dreams of publishing my series, I found I could only write for the me and the enjoyment. Having a few people enjoy my creations is now just a nice bonus.

Yes I generally feel if I can make people chuckle for a few seconds, it’s a win.

It sure is a win my friend. You do it well.

Agreed. Friday night is by far superior to its neighbour Sat. night. Two days is the minimum recovery time needed to return to adulting.

I remember that stage, but it occurred a bit later for me.

Yes it was very much a stage. I must’ve started about 15 but since probably 25 I’ve hardly touched drink. I think it all changed when I got a job that actually gave me a career path.
