(Rest and) Recovery

an emoji of a drunken man

inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 22 February 2021, particular.

As a youngster, my future was bright,
I would often go out Friday night,
Drinking nowt in particular,
I’d end up perpendicular,
Just as well, had 2 days to get right!

          1. What I’m seeing is poetry in general is more enjoyed. I think purely because poems are small and quick to read. With my 1500 word stories I don’t think people actually read them most of the time. They just like and say they like it or not. So these wonderful limericks of yours are perfect for getting great interaction.

            1. Yeah in that respect it is all meaningless. I turn off notifications for either likes or follows for that reason, I only really see comments. The bottom line, if we enjoy writing them, then what does it matter whether people react to them or not?

    1. Yes it was very much a stage. I must’ve started about 15 but since probably 25 I’ve hardly touched drink. I think it all changed when I got a job that actually gave me a career path.
