inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 14 February 2021, village.
Village idiot, easy to stump,
He was fun to wind up, what a chump,
When I claimed, like a flea,
Could jump higher than a tree,
He replied, “don’t be daft, trees can’t jump”

Funny

This made me laugh. I’ve been reading Amelia Bedelia books to a grandchild lately, which is the same sort of humor.

I wanted something that I knew everybody would understand, just to get the “village idiot” bit across. Actually it took a bit of thought because so much of humour has national boundaries. But obviously once thought of, I built the rhyme around it. Please, read it to your grandchild and let me know the verdict!

Ha! Just saw Fandango’s word prompt, my immediate thoughts were the title you’ve chosen for yours. Great minds!
