  1. Actually this did get me thinking about the etymology, after all when we have a “riveting” conversation, that must have the same ancestor as the pegs we use to build ships and bridges. Apparently, the word is middle ages French. “Rivet” was derived from “river”, which was to fettle someone. More details here
