inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 23 January 2022, dogged.
A couple whose sex life was nil,
Tried to spice it with some outdoor thrill,
So they then dogged until dawn,
It was better than porn,
And they enjoyed it so much they’re there still.
I’m sure this must be a name specific to the UK, but given that people are the same the world over, maybe you could tell me what it’s called where you live?
Dogging. It’s a sex thing. I never tried it so here’s what I think it is:
A couple drive someplace in their car. Nominally, a car park somewhere. At night, so it’s quiet. I was told that the local “dogging site” to me (in the nearest city) is the car park of an actual park – grass, trees, etc.
The couple proceed to have sex in their car. I don’t think anybody else is involved in the sex bit.
But, while they are doing the deed, there is a voyeur aspect. Strangers armed with torches come and look into the car and watch the couple performing.
Anyway, I read the prompt and my juvenile mind took me straight to dogging.

Ah, trying to recapture some of their youthful ways 🙂 You write some colorful limericks.!!

Why do you think I appreciate them… pot and kettle?

Maybe dogging in the park but not the voyeur aspect or was that the main point? 😂

Well I presume those voyeurs have to be there for it to be called dogging. Otherwise, I guess it is just outdoor sex. Seems strange, doesn’t it?
It’s weird because the place I heard of, I know as quite a pleasant place, pretty river running through it etc. Yet must take on this whole new identity at night.

I think it’s creepy. 😬

No, not for me, either. But voyeurism has been around forever.

In the movies is one thing but in real life nefarious stuff could transpire if you know what I mean 😬

Presumably, that’s part of the thrill?

I guess 😬

Well you see…if you do this right you fog up the windows, and nobody can see in. But as they used to say in the day – “if the van is rocking’ don’t come knocking'”

So, it is also a thing in the US, then? I thought the whole point was people watching?

Sans the spectator aspect, why not

Hilarious. Always managed to see trailers for Peter Key but never managed to watch the actual show.

The word was “dogged,” which (in the U.S. anyway) means having or showing tenacity and persistence. It seems that “dogging” is a whole different thing! 😏

It has that meaning here too, but the word sounds like it might be a past participle as well as an adjective.

Never seen the attraction. Funny poem though and that Peter Kay clip is hilarious.

It just sounds like something incredibly cold.
