inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 18 October 2022, ignore.
Eighteenth party, I’d grown from a cub,
Mum had hired out the local golf club,
Got a flea in her ear,
When no guests appeared,
‘Cos we’d all headed down to the pub.
Eighteen is the current child-to-adult birthday here and is the age in the UK when one can legally buy alcohol.

I think that would annoy any wanna-be party planner! 🙂

The bit about the golf club was just a convenient rhyme but it is true about my mum. She spent her whole life planning things for people, then being disappointed when they didn’t just fall in.
