inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 14 April 2022, petition.
When a green-fingered gal from Yorkshire,
Cut her garden right back to the wire,
Found the fruits of her labours,
Seemed to upset the neighbours,
When she built an enormous bonfire.

This made me laugh. A Yorkshireman doesn’t pronounce Yorkshire to rhyme with wire, but what do we know. 🤣🤣🤣

Ah, but most of my readers are American. They won’t have a clue 🤣
Except if they ever want to go to Yorkshire, then they’re in trouble.

I went to university in Cardiff. I had desires to learn Welsh but… too hard!In any case, it is only useful in a few remoteareas. If you think about the time you will invest, certainly I concluded that it would be more beneficial to learn e.g. French.

I have huge yearnings to learn French 😀

They do all the road signs bilingually so about all you learn being in Wales are words like “Stop”, “Slow” and “School”.

It varies, like everywhere. Cities like Cardiff used to be very industrial, therewere lots of derelict docks when I was there, but now they are developed. But a lot is rural and thereare (small) mountains there, where you might be in the Alps.
It rained a lot in Cardiff. Seemed to, anyhow. But definitely worth a visit next time you are in the UK.

True. It’s kinda scary when you think that somewhere like the US is far bigger still, so there is no hope of ever knowing it all.

I bet they still put yoursugar up. All foods do. There’s very little “for free”. But it might be fun to find out 🤣
