inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 27 February 2022, insinuate.
When my mother was baking one day,
She found one less cupcake on the tray,
Looked me straight in my eye,
I said, “No mum, not I”,
But the crumbs ’round my mouth gave me ‘way.

Mum’s always know 🙂

This is a most excellent limerick. And I don’t doubt it’s veracity. 😉 Those crumbs are such tattle tales.

I think my full mouth might also have been a giveaway 🙂

That mum should’ve just asked, “Did the cupcake taste good?” then that child wouldn’t have to choose between a fib or getting into trouble for telling the truth.

Hiding the evidence is the key to getting away with the crime. LOL

So true. My sister ate the last chocolate cookie, and my mother asked who took the last one, she said she didn’t
unfortunately she forgot to wipe away the smear off the lips. Doesn’t take a mum to recognize it, just someone with open eyes sometimes. This is so true to life for me. 🙂
