Walked in the other direction today. Followed the course of the river, but stuck to the lane two fields away.
It started bright, by the time I got out the clouds were forming, as you can see, and now (about 3 hours later) it is completely overcast. We even have rain forecast within the hour.

It was. It was lovely just to have breakfast by the promenade.

Love the contrast of the blue blue sky against the beautiful green grass. Lovely photos

It started nice. Dark now. 4C. Which as about 40F, and it’ll get cooler thru the night.

I’m always awestruck by the clarity in B&W photos.

I wanted to try to get a contrast between the barbed wire and the nature, but it didn’t quite come off. It’s one of those times when an SLR would have been far better.

I’ve been playing with that last image, and with a B&W filter it’s very tactile, texturally speaking.

As I was processing, it did occur to me that black and white felt wrong for such strong colours, But I did it anyway 🙂

The duality of the landscape is very poetic too
Glad you got out and shared your views with us 👍

In terms of poetic – Terry Pratchett lived a few villages away. Does he count 🤣

I never knew him, although I’d heard of him.
A neighbour knew him but sadly it was in the context of MS, not writing.

I’ve seen snippets only, but he wrote with a good sense of humour

It’s quite beautiful, looks similar to where we raised our kids 😁

We raised our daughter in this rural idyll. It was ideal for children, since both Mrs Bump and I were raised in cities. But she found it too constraining, no transport links to go anywhere, ended up she hated it. Can’t win!
Funnily enough now that she drives and has a car of her own, she appreciates it when she visits.
