I came across the WritePhoto prompt from K L Kaley, I had some time, fancied doing some writing, so here goes…
This week, we were asked to write the image below.

Oh, wow, she finally trusts me…
Not only will she let me ride to town on my own, but mum gave me a shopping list and some money…
I better hadn’t mess up…
Waiting at the bus stop. Do I still have her list? Her money is safe, I have a purse, but let me check anyway…
Thank goodness, not too long to wait. “A child return to town, please”. On my way. That was easy. Yay, no bossy parents today, I can sit up on the top deck. Oh, there’s Graham. He came to my ninth birthday party last month. And… he’s with his mum. Ha! Aren’t I grown up? Travelling on my own!
“Good morning, Andrew.” Mrs Fletcher. “You’re looking very smart today. I do like your shirt. Where did you get it?” My new blue checked shirt. It goes so well with these new spray-on jeans, and the trainers. I look well cool, today. “Morning, Mrs Fletcher. I don’t know, I’m afraid. It was a birthday present.” “Oh. Graham and I are going to look for some new clothes today. First, he needs a haircut, then we’re going shopping.” I could do with a haircut myself. But maybe next week? In the meantime, there’s a seat free, right at the front…
Made it! How easy was that? I should do this every Saturday morning. “Goodbye Mrs Fletcher.” Poor Graham! Still with his mum. But maybe he’ll get some nifty clothes, like mine?
Right, where’s this list? Ah, still in my pocket. Good…
Okay, supermarket. First on the list, milk. Check. Next? Carrots. What does she want carrots for? If she wants those, she can eat the bloody things herself! Anyway…
What’s next? Ketchup? Oh yes! Easy Peasy. I’m on a roll here. Tortillas? Now we’re talking!
And the last item? Sharp’s extra-sensitive baby shampoo? Must be for Charlie. Little whiney bastard. Still, if she wants it…
But where’m I gonna find that? Let’s ask this assistant…
Right. The baby section is right at the end aisle. Just this one thing, then I can check out. I have everything on her list. She *will* be pleased. Maybe I can have some of those tortillas? Maybe she’ll let me keep the change?
This must be the aisle. Now, let’s hope this thing is easy to find.
Oh, fuck.

we had some last week. I normally avoig, because decent vege mince is hard to find. Also, tortillasare every bit as bad as chips for my sugar. I once thought that they might be better, corn rather than potato, but no deal.

Yup I have flour ones which I’ll use up for various meals but they are like chips but I’m trying to avoid chips now 😁

It would be an overwhelming task to look for shampoo on that isle. Nice job. I am having burritos today and my tortillas are waiting.

I used to love tex-mex when I was in the US. I guess it was pretty authentic. Mexican is limited here but there are restaurants, and there’s one or two supermarket brands. We always kliked it, but it’s a bit anglicised.
We get lots of international food these days but it’s all anglicised.

Around here there is nooo good Tex mex except one place in DC I liked.
I’m fond of Greek food and hummus falafel
You?

Nah, don’t really know it. You can get Greek food in London, in fact there are Greek communities, but not out here. Mainly English, Indial, Chinese, maybe Thai. All anglicised.
In fact, one of the reasons I loved France was the ability to get Moroccan or Vietnamese, both of which I loved.
I’ve had Greek, again in London. I enjoyed it, But I think only once or twice. I remember a mince – guess it was lamb – mixed with spices. It was quite like a kofte, but a patty not a kebab.
Kebabs, in general, are popular. But unhealthy. I used to like them now and again (doner) but haven’t had one for years.
‘Course, none of this is any good now I’m vege.

My mum used to make kabobs haven’t had those in twenty years
I’m not a fan of Indian food stomach can’t handle the spices
Moroccan sounds interesting
You are vegan or vegetarian?

Neither, strictly.
I made a decision a few years ago to cot back on meat for general environmental reasons. /but I still like e.g. pepperoni pizza and the odd bacon sandwich if I go out, but they are exceptions. So it is a mish-mash.
But, just about my favourite food is Indian. Not hot, particularly, but flavoursome. And I can tolerate rice pretty well.
Abba last week, Paul McCartney this. Meh.

Oh it’s Italian for me!! All the naughty bad carb rich foods
Ohhhh Paul! Wings or solo or Beatles?

I like Italian but avoid it. my bodydoesn’t like the carbs in pasta (or potato, actually)
Solo. But a lot of it was live recordings rehashing Beatles songs. I turned over to put a quiz show on.

Although MJ really screwed Paul over so I have much empathy for Sir Paul

Did he? I think they should have a fight about it.

They did! MJ swooped on and bought the Beatles catalog of songs from Paul after Paul had given MJ advice on investments just a really low thing to do imo
Karma got MJ more than once

Oh gosh, yes, I remember that.
Sorry, first time around I thought you meant Mick Jagger.
Michael Jackson was very weird. I was never quite sure whether it was downto him, or whether it went back to his upbringing.

In America MJ was both iconic and weird. He never escaped the child molestation charges against him in the 90s and I think he had a lot of demons as a child star.
Mick is too busy having kids to pick fights w other singers 😂😂but he was a fuck wad too with Jerry Hall

First, Va just outside DC. Ugh. Sorry to anyone who lives there!
Tampa, Fl – was great because of the Spanish history.
NYC – felt like home.
NYC was the only place I could have lived in the USA.

I prefer big cities too.

NYC was the most European. I missed Europe.
In Va it was the Burbs. Had to take a car everywhere. That was one of the reasons I disliked it.
Ironically where I finally settled is pretty rural. Inasmuch as anywhere in the UK is rural. As I’ve gotten older I like not having people around me.

Must be Mexican food night tonight. I will bring the jalapeno peppers and we can all have heartburn together!
His last comment? I say that to myself every time I go to a grocery store and look for anything. Very adult of
him to know those words lol
