A canary decided to fledge,
So crept out of its nest to the edge,
But this novice at flight,
To keep airborne, had fight,
As it crash landed into a hedge.

Aaah, poor little thing. I think you need to write him (it’s obviously a him as it’s in the bushes) back into the air and flying about the place. 😂

Is England pushing to move cats indoors? In Canberra all the new suburbs have laws dictating that cats must be indoors or have yards they can’t get out of. THey haven’t made it retrospective but we chose to do that with our cats anyway.

No, nothing even mooted here. I couldn’t really see that happening.
Funnily enough there were stories last year about cats spreading covid, which I thought might lead to something, but the stories were disproved before they evoked a reaction.

I guess cats have been in England for centuries and centuries. They’re probably as good as native in the sense that if they were going to tip the balance in local fauna, it’s been done. Australia’s wildlife has a horrible rate of extinction. And some of the imported species are at least partially to blame… cats and foxes being done of the worst offenders.
