Reblog: Flashback Track Friday #27 – Walking in Memphis

Earlier today I posted Marc Cohn’s Walikng In Memphis on Songshine Sounds, the blog I share with co-host KK, alongside a challenge to write about a walk *you* went on.

I was my typical self – I posed the question before thinking how I might answer it, but let’s see what I can come up with overnight. I’ve got an idea it might not be a stroll in the park 🤣

Welcome once again to Flashback Track Friday. Each week, either KK or Mister Bump will present a song to you, and out of that song, will prompt you with a question.

The thing I found interesting about Walking In Memphis was that it is about a trip Cohn took (to Memphis!) in 1985, specifically to overcome writer’s block. Even then, this track about the experience was years in the making but was finally released in 1991.

So, all you budding writers out there take note. When you hit a block, get yourself to Memphis!
