inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 15 July 2021, trinket.
My cheapskate friend’s birthday had tolled,
So to open some wine, I cajoled,
As he poured it to drink it,
Found the glasses were trinkets,
When the plonk all leaked out from the bowl.
“plonk” is what we in Britain call a generic, cheap, nasty wine. I didn’t realise that the name didn’t travel, so I’m sorry if you didn’t get that one.

Excellent. I love your limericks.

Good sound, plonk. Terrible alcohol abuse.

I never thought, do you know the word “plonk”? In the UK is is just cheap, nasty wine.
It’s something we heard more of in the Seventies, but quality has generally improved.
