inspired by Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC) of 1 July 2021,cosmopolitan.
You won’t believe this but only yesterday I was quizzing with a friend, and this came up. So do you mind if I skip the limerick today and instead ask you:
What is the main alcohol ingredient of the Cosmopolitan cocktail?
Answer below.
There’s some orange liqueur in there, but the main alcohol ingredient is vodka. Other ingredients include cranberry juice and lime juice. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Anyone want to join me?
Leave a comment below, tell me if you knew. I know one real smartass person who’ll get it!
Limerick tomorrow.

Not a drinker so I have no idea.

I never even knew there was such a cocktail until yesterday. But they are a great genre of quiz question: what is the main ingredient of x?

My mom worked as a cocktail waitress for many years. I heard them all. I saw them all. I never wanted to partake, and never did.

Now I understand why people puke when they drink too much. If you don’t mind, I’ll just have the main ingredient, and a handful of stuffed olives. Ta.

Me and Dauphy thought it would be Tetley’s bitter, but clearly we are now more educated!

A cosmo consists of a Vodka base with layers of triple sec and cranberry juice, sweetened with fresh lime juice. Served in a martini glass with a twist of lemon.

I knew you’d know. I was speaking to someone else yesterday, they knew, but nobody else seems to.

I bartenders for the Royal British Legion in Norfolk for 7 years on and off as I did my chefs courses and apprentiships.
I think cocktails are much on the american bar scene than the UK one though.

was gonna say, sounds exotic for Norfolk!

The Royal British Legion has places all over the UK raising money for the poppy appeal and veterens and such.

Not the legion, but the cocktails 🤣

Lol, whoops my mistake!
Yeah they are exotic. Our club liked to have a cocktail night once on a fortnight so I had to learn to make a few for that.

I must admit I was more of a beer man, althoug tonight I allowed myself a couple glasses of an award-winning red from the Languedoc. Mrs Bump will sometimes go out with her friends and they order pitchers.

Languedoc is a good choice. I prefer a nice ginger beer. Crabbies is delicious.
I wouldn’t want it by the pitcher too much!!

I’m not much of a drinker and when I do imbibe, it’s usually a beer, not a cocktail, so I have no clue.

I knew. It’s a drink made very famous by the show Sex and The City. So many of us chicks in the late 90s and early noughties partook, desperate to emulate Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda.
Ah, those were the days! 🙂

I emember that one flashing by, was it any good?

The show? Yes, brilliant. At least, to a girl in her late 20s and early 30s searching for a guy who wasn’t a complete nob! Relatable, it was 😀

It’s nice that all that pressure’s off, no?
But just replaced with other shit 🤣
