He was always a grump, never calm,
His co-workers evaded, alarmed,
One day let out a bark,
He’d detected his quark,
And at last he developed some charm!

wasn’t it named is some geeky, jokey way? Isn’t “charm” a measure of how inclined something is to combine with something else? I might have that wrong, it was a long time ago.
