On Beasts of Burden

A llama who came from Peru,
Exhaustedly kicked off his shoe,
“Bollocks”, he said,
“I am going to bed”,
And with those last few words, he withdrew.

A donkey who lived in Brazil,
Ferried tourists upon a great hill,
In the harsh midday heat,
He thought, “Blimey, I’m beat.”
“This big git on my back I could kill.”
