Hot Stuff

I keep getting these emails from somewhere claiming to be the “COVID Safety Group”. Far as I can tell, they are basically trying to flog me thermometers. They’ve obviously hit on the idea that by linking it to the virus, they might sell a few more units.

I wonder if they realise that 70% of COVID cases are asymptomatic? People do not even feel unwell, let alone display a fever. It is only because they happen to have been tested (there have been many millions of tests by now) that they know they are infected. Frankly, this is why we need to be so careful opening up schools again.

I doubt it. They’re probably too busy trying to flog their crap to the likes of me.

  1. At least they’re not trying to sell you Spam. Ew. Also, can’t you ‘unsubscribe’ to their unwanted mail? Or mark it “spam” (which I now GET why that picture is at the top fo the post. doh! ) Aw. It’s hot. I’m blaming that for my slow moving thought processes…

    1. It’s hot here too, we have been promised a heatwave for the next 5ish days, but it is humid too.
I can/do mark it as junk, although they can get around that by generating a different address every time.
I never ask to unsucscribe from these things because that just confirms to them that my email address actually exists.
I guess I must’ve had Spam as a child, but I’m with you – ew!
