Last Christmas, I had an idea. A spark.
At the time, I did nothing but think about how to kindle that spark, but losing my job at Easter allowed me the opportunity to nurture something real.
Last weekend, 79,000 words later, I completed my fourth round of editing. I now have something fit to share. Using a nom de plume, just as I do for blogging, I’m now talking to literary agents and learning more about the publishing process.

Well done!! 💪💪 looking forward to seeing it published!

I have a new found respect for anybody who can put that amount of words together, It’s gotta represent a good six months of someone’s life.

I’ve got the words but editing is turning out to be pretty hard work.

Happy New Year, Charmer. Good to hear from you. I’m kinda ambling along. The novel is “finished” and stakk while I maybe look to either get an editor involved, or toss it into the bin. Meantime, in real life I’m having grief with the benefits agency and the central heating packed up on NYD! So, could be better.
How are you doing? Cold up there?

Glad to hear the novel is finished 🙂 Definitely don’t toss it – it’s a huge achievement even writing it so worth keeping for that reason alone! Getting someone else to cast an eye over it might be just the thing to get you going again 👍
Ugh, benefits dramas are always frustrating (why can’t they just speak in plain, understandable English) and winter without central heating sounds horrendous! Currently snowed in up here – hasn’t stopped for a good few days now with temps almost always below freezing.
Otherwise all good with me. Trying to get back into a wee bit of writing and catching up with what folks are up to here. Work/life has taken over this last year meaning very little to no motivation/time for creative pursuits. Hoping I can stick at it more this time ☺️🖤

Yeah I found I just lost the energy to keep posting once I started working full-time again. Even though I’m not in that job any more, I’ve been writing a lot but not blogging it.
No I won’t thow it because I realise that just managing to put that many words together in one place is a huge achievement. But it’s demoralising being told by agents that it’s crap. But having said that, it’s quite a niche subject and these people are just out to push what they think will sell.
Engineer coming tomorrow. Freezing temps down here too, no snow. Rest of the house is cold but the lounge is like a sauna as I’ve had the wood burner going all day. Px

Sounds like you’ve got a good perspective on it – keep going with it! You’ve got at least one reader over here for sure! 😊
Glad you’ve got an engineer coming out to you – sounds like you need to stick to the lounge until it’s sorted! 😊🖤
