Bleeding Edge

I bought a chainsaw at the weekend. As I’m starting to earn again, one of the top priorities is to try to get the house back into shape, including the garden. Sure, there’s lots I won’t be able to do, one-handed, but I’ll do what I can.

Now don’t get me wrong. Before you get worried for me, this thing is actually a mini chainsaw. Just 6″ long, and they are designed for pruning, mostly. Batteries now are sufficiently powerful, it doesn’t need a petrol engine. And therefore light – it is designed to be used one-handed. This new generation of electric tools is so versatile, you can buy anything in “mini” form, including a 6″ hedge-trimmer, which I’ve also ordered.

So that’s maybe something to play with next weekend?

The most disconcerting thing so far – I went to the company’s site and saw these saws labelled “the perfect gift for everyone”!

    • It’s been very useful. I managed to find one-handed hedge trimmers also, again battery-powered. Only 6″ long but they allow me to shape bushes, pin back branbles etc. With the saw I managed to tackle a 10 year old Hawthorn, in stages. I never liked it!
