Inspired by Fandango’s One-Word Challenge (FOWC) of 21 March 2023, receipt.

I went shopping, was looking a scruff,
Found a new suit. Wow! I was hot stuff,
But the guard hollered “Hey,
“You’ve forgotten to pay!”,
And next thing I was led off in cuffs.

Divorced, grown/flown daughter. In life, I designed IT systems, taking a career break as a bicycle mechanic, until interrupted by a stroke in 2016, aged 48. As I convalesced, I combined the development of health-related apps with voluntary work, and began writing.
