Sometimes chatting to my charity clients is hilarious.
I spoke to the husband of one today, he used to be a train driver. He told me about one guy he used to work with.
Regularly, when this guy drove the train, it would lose time on a certain stretch of track. Nobody could work out why. The driver scratched his head.
Turns out, this stretch of track passed alongsaide a racttrack (Sandown Park, if you’re in the UK). On race days, this guy would halt the train to watch the race!
I’ll be sad to give up these calls when I start the new job.
I’m sure they’ll be sad to not be able to tell you their stories. Can you not give it a few hours on the weekend?

They tend not to work on weekends, although to most of the clients weekends aren’t special.

I dunno. The guy who told me was another train driver, so certainly they knew, but whether the managers found out…
