A panicked skydiver, McCoy,
Saw his parachute fail to deploy.
But his landing was spongy,
His fall broken by fungi,
And a well-planted field of Bok Choy.
Who’d have thought it? One that got away!

When I started it, I thought spongy and fungi was a decent couplet. So straight away I had someone landing (therefore also jumping) and surviving. The funniest circumstance I could think of was a parachute not opening. But what words to use? “Open”, obviously, or “deploy”. I couldn’t really think of any others. And of those, neither was brilliant, bbut I liked the premise so I went with “deploy” to use as my rhyme. Even that only led me to a pretty unrealistic “bok choy”. So, yes, I’m sorry about that, but I really wouldn’t analyse this nonsense too deeply.
