As he smooth-talked the flak,
One guy gave him a smack,
And then all his constituents cheered.

I think there is always a problem when we allow people to decide how much to pay themselves.
I saw a documentary on Jan 6 a few weeks ago and one of the things that struck me was the sheer opulence your “representatives” work in.
