Strollin’ Out

Out for a walk in the New Forest yesterday. The southern part of the forest is wooded, as you might imagine a forest to be, but the northern half, where we live, is more heathland. In my cycling days, this was my go-to ride, early Saturday morning to remind me why I lived so far from London.

It’s interesting (honest!) because during the war, this area used to contain a bombing range. I explored it a few times on my mountain bike – it’s far away from the roads and you can only get there cross-country. You can still see concrete mock-ups of U-Boats, plus enormous targets that have been carved into the chalk. X really does mark the spot!

The acorn, what can I say? We went for a coffee afterwards! But doesn’t the sky look lovely at this time of year?

  1. That’s an excellent cycling track indeed… I used to have one favorite bike track in the Philippines, quite similar to this one but of course, of different color palette since we only have green and brown leaves over there πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
The skies certainly look lovely ❀ and the acorn!!! πŸ˜€

trees. Perfect place to go to off on your own to enjoy the solitude.
