Reblog: The Butcher From Fife

Hahaha. Misky just made me think of a limerick I wrote last year. I dug it out again so thought I’d share. I still think it’s brilliant, even if I say so myself 🤣.

Looks like I was even experimenting with speaking it at the time. I settled on SoundCloud as the best voice recording service, because WordPress has a SoundCloud block so it fits nicely into posts, but I gave up altogether when I looked at the stats and saw nobody was listening anyhow.

Anyway, enjoy the bonus poem today!

There was an old butcher from Fife,
Who lovingly sharpened his knife,
His words, they were cordial,
His actions, primordial,
As he dextrously gutted his wife!

for Fandango’s One Word Challenge (FOWC), cordial. My sick humour, I thought this was hilarious.
