For Fandango’s Story Starter #6, where we build something around the following phrase:
There was only one way to keep her quiet, and it was…
This was a new experience for Martin. Though his painstaking work, restoring antique musical instruments, required hours of patience, the person who tested him the most was his six-month-old daughter Lizzy.
Sometimes, right before bed, usually when she was overtired, Lizzy would begin wailing inconsolably. David found there was only one way to keep her quiet, and that was to take his daughter in his arms, to stand in the middle of the lounge, turn up the volume, and begin dancing.
Happy Tuesday, everyone.
A cute story Pete.

It was hardly a story, though. I had the thought straight away and it just needed a sentence to set the scene.

Yes, I like these story starters as they immediately give us an idea where to go with it.

We had to do that with our daughter when she was an infant.

The only other thing, Mrs B would sometimes just get in the car and drive around, middle of the night, until the baby finally dropped off.
