Nice pic. I love been alone on a deserted beach. There is something spiritual about it.

This is one of the strangest places I ever visited. You know that coast, right? It was hard to believe that anything could ever have happened here. I cycled that route from St Malo to Caen a few times and it was unreal, the juxtaposition between the now quiet beaches and the immaculate, manicured cemeteries which are literally just a few hundred yards behind.

Right. St Malo is the first place we ever stayed in France. Back in the seventies, before we had kids. Lovely place!

The Battle of Saint-Malo… those pesky Germans always trying to muck up nice beaches. Great shot, Bump!

That area is fascinating. ‘Course, all the big stuff is gone but you can still see remnants of his Atlantic Wall in places. We went to a museum once and daughter bought an original… gas mask!
Still, kept her quiet 🤣

Oh, I just thought on btw. Here’s a wildlife photography blogger that I follow, if you’re interested:

I presumb from the name it is a woman, they are on the banks os the Mississippi someplace. She’s been posting shots of hummingbirds recently but has posted things like bald eagles in the past. I miss that, now that my eyes aren’t so good, and enjoy seeing her photos.

It would probably be beautiful there today but it is an exceptionally spooky place
