The tigress watches every step.
She bides her time, she works her prep,
Stands statue-still, lest she announce,
The moment when it’s time to pounce.
The tigress watches every step.
She bides her time, she works her prep,
Stands statue-still, lest she announce,
The moment when it’s time to pounce.
I wrote one very similar called The Irony of Blood and I chose to use the tiger as my subject. Such beautiful but deadly animals are perfect for poetry. Well done.

thank you, yes, the tiger is such an easy choice just for its extremes. And it had to be a tigress because, well, it is Int Women’s Day 🙂. Do you have a link to your poem?

Got it in one! Hopefully that will drive some readers to your post. I know – it’s not about readers but perhaps some will interact.

Smooth poem, 😉 but I thought tigers were much more playful than that. Don’t they like to toy with their prey?

I was trying to come up with a witty response to this but I am sorry I was busy last night, The closest I cane was that you made me think of Satch singing Mack the Knife! The shark… pretty teeth… pearly white!

thanks Sur. It just came to me as a snippet but I thought publishable without recreating Tiger, Tiger. Tigers evoke such wonderful imagery, don’t you think?
