I always liked Fandango’s Who Won the Week post, and like to join in with some quirky stories from my own newsfeeds. All from our unique vantage points, the idea is to pick something (a person, organisation, anything) which “won” the week.
Fed up hearing about Biden and Trump?
Even in the UK we are fed up with hearing about the US presidential election, so heaven knows how bad it must be in the USA.
But one company has come to the rescue. Hotels.com are giving one lucky person the chance to live under their very ovn rock for the week! In fact this is a man-made cave, fifty feet underground, which has been hewn out of the rock in New Mexico, near the town of San Juan.

As you can see, the cave has electricity throughout. It also boasts running water, wi-fi, TV and a kitchen which includes microwave and refrigerator.
Still not convinced? Well, maybe the price will temp you? The cave was available at the “presidential rate” of a mere $5/night, with a discount of 20% being offered to early-bird bookings.
And, if you feel that life in a cave for a week might get a little… boring, never fear. In addition to the doorstep attraction of… hiking, if you’re prepared to travel that bit farther you can treat yourself to a round of golf (only a few miles away), or you’re only 10 miles away from San Juan’s (pop 592) casino, for that added pizzazz!
Full details, including several more images, here. Looks lovely!

Book me, Dan-O! For the year.

Not very appealing for those suffering from claustrophobia.

But probably more than listening to all the horseshit 🤣

Fed up? Absolutely not.
I’ve enjoyed the run up to the US elections. Partly for the comedy value of listening to Trump speak and watching his mentally challenged star-struck fans who are all dressed as though they’re taking part in a circus, but also out of interest.
I can’t imagine that any self-respecting American would be fed up this year, they’ve been waiting for four years for this day to arrive. It’s a year like no other, the country has to rid itself of the man if it ever going to taken seriously again.

I thought it was interesting to listed to some Trump supporters because they will tell you that Biden is every bit as tainted as Trump. I think they are so polarised as a nation that there must be very few “don’t knows” at this stage, and probably for the last six months. They could have held the election a year ago and I doubt the result would have been much dirrerent.
I wrote a post comparing Trump and Corbyn not so long ago, because I think they’ll both go down the same way. I still think that. I think Trump will be on the receiving end of a landslide, I hope so because that’ll be the only way to sidestep his inevitable allegations of vote rigging.

If he wins, we will all agree with him about the vote rigging!
Some of Trump’s interviews have been hilarious, and for all the wrong reasons.
Biden is a stopgap, he’s too old for the job, it needs an experienced, dynamic younger politician but he will do for now if only to get Trump out.
