A fishmonger based in Lahore,
Felt the pinch when one opened next door,
For the subsequent glut,
Meant his profits so cut,
That he fillets his catches no more.

I’d really like to find a good resource of place names which rhyme with such-and-such a sound. Maybe Google’s next project? As it is I scratch my head and stare at a map!

If you Google you can find most things. We don’t eat much fish in summer months. In winter it’s very popular. Over here in Lahore, it’s mostly river fish as we are a landlocked city.

there are sites, but good is the key. Rhymezone is good for other words, but not so hot on proper nouns.

Seriously, it was impossible to read fast enough for the desired tempo, so I had to learn them by heart first. Then it was a case of working out how best to embed them into a post. I went through Youtube too but I had to create a fake video, because it won’t do just audio.

I think these guys were the first people I found. Soundcloud just has fewer clicks to hear the audio, that’s all. I figure every time you ask people to click, you lose a few more readers.
I went through a phase where I thought this was a nice idea, it was as much so I understood how to do it, as much as anything. But like I say, nobody listened. The nice thing about all these services is they present you with a screenful of stats so you can see how many times a clip was downloaded.

I think an audio file is a nice idea. As for statistics, I usually avoid reading mine; it only points out the fact that I have a low readership. 😂

Funny, readers never really bothered me, and I have always thought “I have topped out” from having just a few readers, to now having 600. Posts are useful just for me, because they force me to articulate something. You know, not the limerick nonsense but the serious posts.
But I draw the line at spending time and effort which is no use to anybody at all.
