Art with a Twist

I found this the other day. Tickled me. As you might guess, it is a Banksy. His(?) copyright is similar to mine. Unless it’s for commercial use, anything goes. Admirable, when he can probably put a price tag of millions on anything he creates.

If that tempts you, head over to www.banksy.co.uk to see a small selection of his work. He’s very switched-on.

  1. Right, an activist with such a capitalist mindset… or a phoney making people think he’s an activist when he really is after the money… nothing wrong with an artist looking to make money, but when you’re such a drool…

    • Hahaha. You’re nota fan, then? I like how he uses his art to make a broader point. I like to do that when I write. I think it’s far more effective than just saying “I hate X”, whatever X might be.
Also, although I like (visual) art, I was never able to create anything myself. I could never even draw a straight line. So when I see the image above I can appreciate not only the skill he must have had to create that pastoral scene in the first place, but also that “out of the box” thinking he has to add the graffiti

      • No, not a fan of Banksy. But I agree with your point about using art/literature to make a broader point. I just don’t see that in Banksy. I see Banksy being a corporate entity with a very successful business strategy… cheers Mister Bump 😊
