He is – was – a superb poet. He left school illiterate, and that time lag probably explains why his poetry is so direct. I like it. A lot of poetry does nothing but obfuscate, and is unintelligible as a result. I find, in any case.
If you don’t already know him, he had a lot of published work including a channel on Youtube. From the early Eighties onwards. He died yesterday.
