A keen fisherman, my Uncle Dale,
Had a mission, one day, and set sail,
Out to sea, rod attached,
Where he made a great catch,
For he landed an angry blue whale!

Now that’s a proper fish story! Good morning, B.

Good morning Misk. Start of a nice, relaxing Sunday, I hope.

So far so good here. A load in the wash machine; sun is trying to break through; Peder’s blood sugar number is good; I got a 93 Fitbit sleep score … and I’m writing you. 😁

I bit the bullet and finally had a new washing machine delivered Friday. Almost immediately, I thought the tumble dryer had broken down only to realise that I had almost been foiled by a child lock! The good thing about being on my own now is that I only use these things once a week, so hardly overused.

I use mine twice a week. Once for whites, once for darks. If you’re going to wash, whites and darks together, throw in one of those Colour Catcher sheets. They’re miraculous.

I don’t think I have any whites any more!

I’m not surprised if you wash everything in the same load. 🤣

But I do have some red bush tea, which arrived in the order! Life is not all bad.

I’ve not tried Red Bush but I’ve heard that it’s high in antioxidants. I drink Twinings Everyday tea. And coffee, of course, in the morning.

I drink tea mostly. My staple is PG Tips because it is biodegradable. But I also enjoy a black, mint tea, that I can only buy in the US(!) and Red Bush from time to time.
I got a Dolce Gusto machine when I started work, just, really, if anyone came round. But it makes such a good cup of coffee that I go through about 25 pods per week just on my own.

Are those pods recyclable, or maybe biodegradable? I grind Lavazza beans and make drip/filter coffee every morning.

They are recyclable. I need to bag them up, then drop them off at a recycling point, which happens to be a garage a mile-and-a-half away. Which basically means I have 5 bags of them in the porch, waiting for when I’m around that way. But they are Nescafe (like Nespresso) so they have infrastructure like that.

Pity that one of your neighbours can’t pop the bags in the recycling for you.

I’m sure they would, if I asked, but I like to be independent. It used to drive my ex- crazy.

Is she officially an ex now?

we’re separated not divorced but I’ve no intention of getting back with her, I very much doubt she does either. I’m enjoying life on my own which, if anything, makes me more inclined to go for a divorce, to disentangle ourselves legally.

It’s really the job that changed things, not us splitting. Having those extra pennies makes a huge difference. If I look at it objectively we used to annoy each other a lot anyway. I prefer it just me and the cats!

Good afternoon/morning, Nancy! They’re a lifesaver for sure. I have an old t-shirt that’s still bleeding all over the place after years of washing.

It hasn’t bled out yet? 😂

No! I’ve even soaked in vinegar solution, and then tried a salt water mixture. Nothing stops it.

You need to take that thing down to the creek and stone it 😂

It’ll go in the bin before I do that.

Aha! I do not have a Fitbit. With liver and mustard, that makes 3 🤣

The battery calibration on my Fitbit is always wonky, so it only counts as half a Fitbit. 😉
