Seems like I’ve heard steel pylon one too many times, but it could be any of these really, I suppose. Copper seems too expensive to use.

Yes, it’s steel. It’s the only viable materian for anythong that big. Is copper expensive? Everything comes with copper wires so surely not? I don’t think it’s particularly strong. Although verdigris pylons would be beautiful.

Whis one very much played to my physics background. A pyone is, what, 100m tall. So it was a case of what material could ve used to span that distance, and strong enough to maintail not just its own weight but the weight of the cables.
