D?

Y. Absolutely. I reckon you could guess this because the other three options are all Europe, so the fourth is likely to be the answer.

I suppose it’s like the tennis. Their midsummer is just earlier than everyone elses. I think the European ones are all mid-July ish.

I’m an F1 fan. I knew this one. It looks like most people don’t follow this sport.

I followed it in the Nineties, in fact I went to a GP over in Spa. Most memorable thing was, it was loud! Not a clue now, though, but they’re not going to have messed around with the schedules.

It’s ridiculously expensive nowadays.

I seem to remember it was about £50 when I went. But the really dumb thing was, it was cash only. So once I got there, I needed to drive out again and find a cashpoint. The only sport event we looked at going to in recent years was the French Open tennis, but that was crazy silly expensive, about €1,000/day from a travel agent. Tour de France was free if you can stand the crowds.

Race day ticket at Silverstone starts at £650 for general admission. If you’re 2 or under, you get in free. I don’t think I can fool anyone into thinking I’m 2-years old. Since Covid, crowds make me uncomfortable. I’m rather annoyed with myself for that but can’t help it. We even managed to catch a cold from someone sitting next to us in a Bakewell cafe. They were coughing and coughing, and a few days later, we were doing the same. Cough cough cough.

None of that silliness with icing and a cherry on top. I had the traditional variety. Delish!

It is the only one I had thought of, not for nothing I am Italian.
So let’s go to the antipodes: Australia?

Y. Absolutely. Grands Prix tend to be midsummer. They follow the seasons. Generally. I think all the European ones are July/August,.
