Did you ever hear of Carry On movies here? Low budget, comedies (though not very funny), each was a self-contained movie but they used the same cast…
Anyway I forget who the Black Fingernail was but I think he was aspoof of the Scarlet Pimpernel, who I guess you will have heard of.
