Here’s one I heard on tv last night:
What substance, commonly used in DIY, is a mixture of chalk and linseed oil?
If you know the answer, feel free to post it in a comment, and we can all admnire how brainy you are. I’ll post the answer in my own comment this evening (UK).

Some kind of paste?

Well, actually, it is kind-of a glue, but we don’t refer to it as such.

The word chalk makes me think this could be the paint known as Chalk Paint, but that would be too easy, so I have to say I have no idea.

It was only of those things where I pricked up my ears – I had no idea that was made of that. Oh, I just see that Linda answered it correctly!

I will go back and look. I love these guessing games. I never get the right answer though. 😃

Well done, Linda! I would never have thought of that, but now I know and remember the smell of putty, then yes, of course!

Thanks but I did ask my hubby for help. Does that still count? 🤣🤞

It should be the putty that holds window glass in place.

Well now if I don’t have putty I know how to make it. Of course I’ll have to have chalk and linseed oil…dang!

it almost makes you want to go looking for a recipe, doesn’t it? I suppose the oil must evaporate as it hardens, but I don’t think of oil evaporating.

Reminds me I spilled some clear veg oil when a trash bag split right outside my front door on the way to the trash bin. It’s still there even after power washing the cement. 😳

My trash bags often split, ever since I kicked the **** out of the bin one day (bad day!) and its edges are now jagged. Suppose I should replace the bin but I’m afraid of a repeat.

This made me laugh, thank you! I can picture it. Mi e split because it got stuck between my s ooter and the door jamb and if course being an impatient person, I yanked it out…lesson learned.😳🥴😂

If anybody skipped the other comments, the answer is putty. I had no idea that’s what it was made of.
