Share Your World (4 May 2020)

Share Your World is hosted by Melanie over at Sparks From a Combustible Mind. This week she asks:

What can you break even if you don’t touch it?  (yes there is a real answer to this.  I’ll reveal it in the next week sometime.  Still, answer how you would like – no right or wrong answer)

Heard this riddle before. The Sound Barrier. Or, in my case, wind.

What’s the most useful thing you own?

Okay, to be the most useful, it’d probably have to be something I use each day. A kettle? A toaster? A computer certainly takes up several hours per day. A toilet? Toilet Paper? Maybe there was a real reason for the shortage? An oven? A freezer, at the moment? I like to listen to my little Google speaker while I’m in bed. One of the ones that listens to you. I know that’s an anathama to some of you, but being able to turn the light on when I get up to pee at 3AM is useful. Maybe my router? Because the speaker, and mostly the computer, (not to mention the light!) would be useless without my wi-fi. Have you noticed it is mostly gadgets? Maybe the most useful thing is just having an electricity supply?

What’s The Silliest Reason You’ve Ever Gotten Into A Fight With Someone Over?

Most of the arguments with my wife are for silly reasons, so trivial I can’t even remember an example. Mostly, she does something dumb, you can guess the rest 🤣

If You Were A Snake, How Long Would You Want To Be?   No, size does not matter.  😛

huh? 14,000 miles. Two can play that game.

Gratitude and/or uplifting?   Please share.   We can all use some of those.

Scones, clotted cream, strawberry jam and sunshine! Where’s it gone? And, do you guys know what clotted cream is, or is it an English thing? And, I just found two music channels on the TV, one dedicated to the Seventies, the other to the Eighties.

May the force be with you!

  1. Wonderful Share Your World!! 😆 Sound barrier? Okay that’s valid, but a new one on me (not hard to do really). Wind? Um… 🙄 we’re keeping that one silent and deadly (at least in my house – not that anyone else is here to mind … the dogs’ wind is far worse – green haze and need the haz mat suit STAT!! 😛 14,000 miles is a really long snake…are you sure it’s not that big guy encircling the globe? 😆

  2. Some of these answers made me giggle. Our dog breaaks wind all the time too. Loved the bit about the toilet paper! Actually there doesn’t seem to be such a shortage now. Wonder what that’s saying!

    • we kust got back from our local Tesco and it id displayed very prominently there, right as you enter the shop. The only thing we couldn’t get were frozen croissants, we had to get almond croissants instead, which are usually too sweet. But, you know, when all you can’t get is something like a croissant…

  3. Never knew you could get frozen croissants. Must try them. We’ve just had a Tesco delivery this morning. Nothing missing. Just they sent Warburtons teacakes instead of Tescos own. No problem there. We’re getting delivery slots ok now. They don’t often miss anything off. So doing ok on that score now. Must try those frozen croissants though. They sound good

    • We found frozen croissants the best simply because they turn out the right shape! We have a slot booked for next week, so tried to get just a week’s shopping today. They talk about profiteering, and I notice that most of Tesco’s 2 for whatever offers are gone, so that just seems a more subtle way of profiteering, though.

      • Great that you got a slot booked for next week. Yes to the profiteering! Mind you, they’re fairer than Asda regarding deliveries as we tried an Asda delivery once we could get a slot with them. They make a £4 extra charge if your order does not come to £40 or over. So we ordered £50 sworth. They failed to bring over £10 worth of our order, making it go under £40. So then they added the shrcharge, making our charge for delivery £9. With Tescos if you end up with less than the required £40 through them not delivering it, they don’t charge you the extra. So they are not as bad as Asda.
