Rats!

I have this ongoing, intermittent problem living rurally. Rats. I always get them around here, they’re all over the village. I’m no longer able to climb into the loft so I regularly have to poke my head up and throw blocks of poison up there.

I think I’m good at the moment, but wanted to reassure myself. I have a bird feeder in my garden, and if there are any rats about, they’re never too far away from it. I can sometimes see them scurry across my lawn, though they’re way too quick for me to do anything about it.

So this morning I set up one of those tiny surveillance cameras with motion detection. So even if I’m too slow, the camera isn’t.

Anyway, somebody decided to check out the setup!

  1. Surveillance cameras are fun to watch! We had a rat problem after my kitty passed away, then we got rid of the bird feeder, caught a few in human traps, released them a few miles away, all good now. The new kittens will deter any future rat residence inquiries!😉

    • My cat’s too old now to catch things, though he used to be prolific. I love having birds visit the garden, so will put up with rats outside. But when they get into the roof, I take action. But I figure if they are in the roof, I’ll see them outside too.
