Despite hearing yesterday that last year was the third warmest on record, it’s been feeling pretty cold here lately.
I was encouraged when I went into the garden today to see that while I’ve been hunkered down, Mother Nature has been beavering away.

Wonderful to see those shoots rising up out of the ground! Come on Spring! 🙂

absolutely! There are a few coming up in the front andI was wondering whether they’d come up too early, but I’m happy to see snowdrops out back.

Are those from a plant that’s already growing in your garden? Or did they just spring up out of nowhere?

No they come up every year without encouragement from me. Snowdrops are always the first flowers to reveal themselves, love to see signs of things growing again.

I always take solace in the fact that no matter the damage, mother earth will take over everything eventually once we are all dust.

Lots of my little daffodils came up and flowered before Xmas. I was saying to them ‘Go back down and wait for spring.’

My magnolia does that every year. A blast of flower that lasts about 2 days before it gets cold again! But I’m lucky because it’s an established tree and when summer finally arrives it flourishes.
