I sent an email to an MP yesterday. I don’t normally bother with party politics, but for this, I made an exception.
My words to her were “saying nothing is not an option”, so I will follow my own advice.
The MP in question has just resigned from the top team of our opposition party, for the humanitarian act of voting to press for a ceasefire in Gaza. As if the world takes any notice of the UK any more, but it is a noble gesture, and you never know. It seems callous not to want one.
I am disgusted by Hamas’s attack on Israel. They wilfully attacked people that they considered to be their enemy. And what did it achieve? They must have known that they would provoke retaliation of some sort.
I am even more disgusted at Israel’s attack – not on Hamas but on third parties. They wilfully attacked people who they knew were not their enemy. The calculating Israelis interviewed tried to trick the world into thinking that the two are synonymous. Except we saw the TV footage. The queues of people being forced to evacuate their homes are nobody’s enemy.
And what do they think they’ll have at the end of this? Security? I doubt it, somehow. I remember from the IRA, it doesn’t matter how many hundreds of bomb plots you foil, if just one of them gets through… As long as there’s a will, they will find a way, sooner or later. And the resentment is not just in the region, either. An estimated 300,000 people demonstrated here just last weekend, in support of a ceasefire, something solely within the gift of Israel. That’s people, not necessarily with any ties to the region, but simply with a humanitarian interests at heart, who are observing Israel’s belligerence.
All that heightened awareness of Gaza… I wonder, will Israelis ever sleep soundly again, wherever they might be?

I couldn‘t agree more! We’ll said !

Yes summed up far more succinctly than all the talking going on above our heads.

Thanks Pete for speaking up. Killing people on either side will only aggravate the problem. I’m with you about the Hammas attack!! What a beastly thing to do and what was the objective? If starting a war was the aim, they achieved it with death of thousands of children too.

For Gaza to live, Hamas has to die. Israel has failed to differentiate as you said, but when something like Oct 7 happens, you just know it’s so tough to think straight.

But think straight they must. Being angry is not an excuse for killing.

They needed to go all out because in my opinion the Israeli government is a frailing one and thus taking too much time to think would inevitably cause uproar within the country itself. If I remember correctly, Israel instituted a war cabinet where opposition leaders are key players too. Thus we are back at our original question, why do leaders have pea sized brains?

It’s such a mess and I fully agree with you. It’s got to stop.

How does the logic work? Case A runs parallel and adjacent to Case B, does this make Case A & B equal? Answer: No. But to differentiate the one from the other becomes difficult. Based upon the brass incense pans dedicated by 250 Princes who rebelled against the government of Moshe together with Korach.
Those incense pans attached to the sides of the brass alter, and in effect joined the altar as one mitzva. This sh’itta of learning, which compares one בנין אב precedent to another בנין אב precedent; the two parallel to one another, debates over this logical fallacy require making an essential understanding הבדלה which separates and discerns: like from like.
For example: the UN General Secretary argues that the Oct 7th Abomination, no different than the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine. As if the fact that Hamas and its coalition partners murdered 1400 Israelis and stole 250 captives equal to the 2005 Israeli unilateral withdraw from Gaza; Israel gave Gaza as land to establish an Independent Palestinian state!
The UN General Secretary says the Oct 7th Abomination equals to the Israeli unilateral withdrawal from Gaza in 2005. The logical fallacy of this corrupt attempt to equivocate the Hamas and Co. abomination to Israel being the only country in the Middle East to dedicate land to establish an Independent Palestinian state Two State Solution … likewise an abomination on par with Oct7th; the UN רשע just made a gross perversion and revisionist history – an abomination on par with Oct 7th itself.

Palestine: 1922 to 1948 R.I.P. Ben Gurion named the Independent Jewish State – Israel in 1948. Gazans in the 2006 elected Hamas as the government of Gaza. Following the Oct 7th Abomination Israel invaded Gaza.

Chamberlain’s 1938 Appeasement Policy caused WWII. Chamberlain’s 1939 White Paper lead to the Holocaust systematic slaughter of 75% of European Jewry, brutally violently murdered in less than 3 years. His “Two-State Solution” for the Czech Republic extinguished the light of Czech freedom, till the fall of the USSR in 1991. Does the land of Gaza compare to Post WWII land of Prussia? Yes.
Both Oct 7th Israel & Dec 7th 1941 US, (fight/fought) a Total War against the enemy. No negotiations, No deals, flat out unconditional surrender or atomic bombs death. Those wars both present and past (require//required) the total unconditional surrender of despicable surprise attack enemy. The Israeli peace plan: a forced population transfer of all Gazans unto the 140 UN members: Peace Now, NOT in our Name – whose Appeasement Policy recognizes Palestine as an Independent nation.

Chamberlain’s 1938 Appeasement Policy caused WWII. Along with the Hitler/Stalin Non-aggression Pact which permitted the invasion by both countries of Poland.
Chamberlain’s 1939 White Paper lead to the Holocaust systematic slaughter of 75% of European Jewry, brutally, violently murdered in less than 3 years.
Jews, like Gazans right now, had no country to which they can flee unto. The US for example: closed their borders to Jewish refugees who fled from the Nazis. Chamberlain’s “Two-State Solution” for the Czech Republic extinguished the light of Czech freedom, till the fall of the USSR in 1991.
Jews must never forget: Chamberlain, and his democratic majority in Parliament, waving his Peace Treaty, signed with Hitler, yelling: Peace in our Time!!!!
Chamberlain enjoyed an overwhelming democratic majority in Parliament, just as support in the UN for a Palestinian state currently has massive international support today of UN member states.
Now,,, does the land of Gaza compare to Post WWII land of Prussia? (Prussia the heart and soul of the 2nd Germanic Empire that collapsed post WWI.) Answer: Most emphatically YES.
Both Oct 7th Israel, & Dec 7th 1941 United States, (fight/fought) a Total War against a coward enemy. No negotiations, No deals, flat out unconditional surrender or atomic bombs death. Like as fell upon Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Those wars both then and now (require//required) the total unconditional surrender of that most despicable enemy, whose arrogant leaders led their people to make a destiny determining fateful surprise attack upon an unsuspecting nation.
Post the Oct 7th Abomination War: The Israeli peace plan: a forced population transfer of all Gazans unto the 140 UN member State “democratic majority” —- Peace Now, Cease Fire-Now! Kapo assimilated & intermarried Jews: NOT in our Name –- whose Democratic majority Appeasement Policy recognizes Palestine as an Independent nation.
