Today’s Provocative Question, Fandango asks:
What do you think is the one subject (or thing) that should be taught in school that isn’t?
Common Sense.
You want a longer answer?
Okay, c o m m o n s e n s e .
I could offer a more considered answer, like how the playing field should be totally flat, how no one person is better or worse than any other, but don’t they teach that already?
Good answer. Says it all. Nothing more to add!🙂

If only we had school boards with some to start with. If not common sense, then at least a class in critical thinking where learning how to conduct meaningful research is required. I’m all in for your idea.

Actually, critical thinking would have been every bit as good an answer. But again, aren’t they s’posed to teach that?
Methinks there’s a disjoint happening somewhere!

Well done and the edges nicely tucked-in.

A good response. 🙂 If I get started on this, referring to our school system… Well, I’d best do my own post — to avoid making one of those long comments. 🙂

I’ll give you a hint: our school system is the place for practicing new educational trends — not so great with the ‘3Rs.’

Is common sense actually something that can be taught?

Well, they teach math, and look at everybody’s deficit 🤣

I answered that way too, but in a lot longer post. And everyone ‘has a level playing field?” Maybe in your country, but over here? That’s NEVER been the case and certainly isn’t taught. If one has money, one gets. If one is poor, one goes without. Equality is a joke, and I have it better than most.

Yes, funnily enough I was listening to your post as I opened your comment.
A level playing field has never been the case here, either, but it starts with education.
