It’s the leaf, apparently. I didn’t know this and I remember it from the show, the contestant also got it wrong.
My daughter was made up when she was allowed henna tattoos at my cousin’s wedding – she was marrying an Indian guy.

I’ve been using the henna leaves ( dried and ground) for years.

It’s not one I would have known, although funnily enough my cousin married an Indian guy so there was lots at their wedding. My daughter was wild for it.
